I made the Dalgona coffee drink during the beginning of the pandemic and it was good! I made it again recently and people asked me if I could turn the instructions into a short video so here it is!! 🙂 This drink really requires only 4 things!! Dalgona is not “new” but it just became viral because of one famous Korean star mentioning about it. Also, other countries do share similar drinks as this!

Renca is wearing a floral shirt. She’s standing in the kitchen with several ingredients in front of her. She has a bowl with instant coffee, cup of water, and coconut sugar. She begins the video by looking like she’s speaking but she’s not then she said “Kidding of course!” “How to make Dalgona coffee? Tada!” A quick screenshot comes on saying that you need 2 tablespoons of instant coffee, 2 tablespoons of sugar (I chose coconut sugar), 2 tablespoons of water, and put them all in a bowl. You will need to whisk it. Renca becomes over dramatic by saying “get your whisker!” Or “a fork” but renca prefers a whisk. She begins to whisk and the video is in fast speed. Quick facts screen comes on “Dalgona means Honeycomb Toffee in Korean. Origin of Dalgona comes from Korea but other countries share similar ones. Used to be called Chow-Yuh Fat coffee after a famous Korean actor. Became internet history when Jung Il woo, a Korean actor, made the drink “famous.” Went viral on TikTok during the pandemic.” Make sure you whisk until the texture becomes light brown. You can add ice to your milk. I chose Oatmilk. Renca is seen pouring the whipped Dalgona on top of her milk. She picks it up and says “cheers!” Then slurps it.

Dalgona is very bitter, or at least the batch I made was. Have you ever made meringue cookies from aquafaba, the water from a can of chickpeas? It works.
