Robert Herjavec is one of the most iconic and likable sharks on Shark Tank. Unlike some of the other sharks that heavily criticize entrepreneurs and make predatory offers, it seems like Robert is just a chill dude looking to invest in businesses that he's passionate about. Many superfans of the show, however, would tell you that Robert may not be the super chill guy that he portrays on TV. Robert has the lowest closing rate of all the sharks when it comes to following through with deals. Similarly, it's not uncommon for Robert to be passive-aggressive towards some of the other sharks and especially Mark Cuban. While his persona on TV is a bit controversial, Robert's backstory is nothing but genuine. Robert truly did have a rough childhood growing up in former communist Yugoslavia and immigrating to Canada with nothing. Robert has since been able to grow to a net worth of $200 million, but there's no doubt that he didn't get any freebies along the way. I sold Robert some of his high end vehicles back when he lived on Post Road in Toronto. His wife, his children and Robert were always extremely courteous always extremely upbeat and very happy I can only speak from my experiences.

Interesting video. It's true we all know him as the most chill and laidback shark. I wont hold his low close rate against him... or being "passive agressive"... I think he's just the one shark who has worked the hardest for his money and was the poorest from start so he's not going to invest in anything he doesnt believe in 100%

Robert is known for trying to change deals he makes after the show (Hence his low closing rate.) He was also using his name to advertise a real estate seminar scam a few years back. Not really the stand-out guy, shark tank makes him out to be.

I know this video is about Robert but can we acknowledge how many Deals Mark has closed? 28 deals is a lot of deals! Him being the only billionaire you’d think he’d have a big ego, but the guy is a very down to earth and really wants to help young entrepreneurs! He’s my role model!

I see Robert as the nicest, most genuine and humble Shark in the tank. He is that American success story. He knows how to make something from nothing and stretch money as far as it'll go, made evident by turning a $20, 000 cybersecurity start-up into a multi-million enterprise.

Though he is a bit of a one-trick pony. His successes derive themselves from the cybersecurity and software solutions space, and he has little diversity beyond that. If that's what you're offering, then he is the one you want. He will assimilate your business into the Herjavec Group and you'll have opportunities. Kevin and Mark have the most diverse portfolios and know the ropes in different industries, and Lori knows how to sell whatever you scraped off your shoe. Mark and Kevin are the ones you want to gravitate towards because they will know how to overcome many of the challenges you will face, whereas Lori you want to gravitate towards if you have excess inventory but need the sales, patent protections and consumer outreach. Those are the ones you want as a budding entrepreneur, which isn't to detract from the successes of Barbara, Daymond and Robert.

I think this is how they have assigned them their personalities on Shark Tank. If all our same, it wouldn't be much fun. So, they have dramatized this so that it is entertaining for the audience.

Also Mark loses money of those businesses. It's truly just an ego play.

If by most chilled you mean the shark that never gets easily offended, i think that title would go to Kevin. Apart from the "fk you" incident, kevin is very chilled and never gets offended, unlike Robert.

Liked it but it missed the turn around in attitude from the show. Watch the first 2 episodes of Shark Tank, its on Hulu if you have it or find other "free sources". I was really bored one day and watched it from the beginning and I almost didn't even believe my ears. Robert was an absolute monster in the first episodes telling every single person they need to quit their dream and settle for a regular job. He even got into fights/arguments with the other sharks and made the contestants cry. His wife probably told him to chill the fuck out because he changed soon after.

Robert seems like the most regular shark, facade or not, I can’t blame the closing rate when there’s so much we don’t see during the pitch as well as the opening of books after the potch
