I see the rising interest rate as a very big problem, as more investors will definitely pull out more money from the Stock market. This might have worked when I was still invest-ing with a couple thousand dollars, but it is more difficult now to decide whether to pull out more than $365k from my port-folio. I know some inves-tors still make that despite the strong bear market. In wish I could pull that feat

Rate cuts commence in June 2024, taking 6-8 months to complete. A potential crash, if any, might occur by March 2025. The soft landing narrative is gaining traction, making this big recession everyone is calling for less likely. With $1 million from a business sale, I'm seeking profitable investment opportunities for the next 3 years.

With around $250k to invest, what's your advice on entering the market? I'm considering replicating the strategies of experts instead of investing independently to avoid both financial losses and emotional stress. What are your thoughts on this approach?

Based on history this rate cut is not needed. Politicized rate cut this what's called.

I feel investors should be focusing on under-the-radar stocks, and considering the current rollercoaster nature of the stock market, Because 35% of my $270k portfolio comprises of plummeting stocks which were once revered and i don't know where to go here out of devastation

They just want house prices to go thru the roof here

BoC should have held at 5.
If they lower interest rates enough to make any difference, it will set off a myriad of other imbalances as well as fuel inflation.

Fire the government. The entire house is useless.

Keep rates the same. Let the market go into correction mode. Let the economy go. It’s about time the market has a crash and correction. We need to see this because the entire market is trying to pay down debt and most companies are not doing that well except the big five.

If they don’t cut before September it will likely be December. The probability that the Fed will reduce rates close to the election is low.

More like BoC cutting rates was a big mistake. Wage gains are blowing through the roof at 5.1 percent on today's release. I guess none of them ever heard of the term wage price spiral and what that leads to.

We're going to see a 2nd wave of inflation, nearing 20%. Just like what Justin's Dad gave us.

Yup, it was the worst thing that can happen in Canada. Bidding wars are gonna start again, with people borrowing millions of dollars in debt to compete for the same amount of apartments/houses. Borrowing should NEVER be cheap, especially in an economy where there aren't enough housing & food to support basic life. Only homeowners with multiple "investment" properties are gonna benefit from this while the common, tax paying Canadians suffer in unending bidding wars. Back to business guys, borrow as much as you can... free money...

.25 isn't a rate cut, it's a slap in the face to Canadians

When did we have a 2.4 inflation reading? I thought 2.6 was the lowest we have seen since the pandemic highs.

Those dirty little scoundrels down at the BoC. Everyone ask your MP for your interest-bearing central bank digital currency.
