As someone without a baking thermometer and i like to reduce mess, i recommend using a microwave safe plastic bowl and microwaving 3/4 of your chocolate till it's really warm, then adding in the leftover 1/4 of COLD unmelted chocolate and stirring it till it's cooled down and completely melted in.

if ya’ll lazy like me just use compound chocolate, no need to tempered it anymore but it’s not the highest quality chocolate, still taste good though for baking 😋😋😋, recommend

Or you melt not one part of the chocolate and add the rest of the chocolate in its solid form and mix it until it’s melted.works too and is less messy

Or you could melt 1/3 and then add the rest in and mix allowing it to melt gradually and be at a low temp
