Enemy at the Door chronicled, sometimes in exacting detail, the effects of the Nazi invasion of the Channel Islands between 1940 and 1943.
Enemy At The Door draws a clear distinction between the soldiers and officers of Wehrmacht and those who belong to the attached SS unit. Yet while the series is fiction, many of the incidents and characters are based on fact.

As a boy I watched this with my Grandma a street away who loved it. Great series. Reinicke the villain and Richter the good.

Oh wow! This was one of the first series I ever watched right through - we had only just got a tv at that time and we all watched together. Later on I got to visit Guernsey and bought books written by locals explaining their experiences of that time. THANK YOU! x

Probably the best series about the war that I have ever seen. No bloody battlefields or air raids, just what it is like to be occupied by an invader. Excellent acting and characters as well as politics. I rate this series

Thank you so much for posting this. I have been looking for it for years. I am British but grew up in France. I used to visit my wonderful grandparents in Wales every summer and at Christmas and remember watching an episode or two with them. They are both sadly gone but I have lovely memories of those times. X

Thank you very much for providing this excellent series based on the German occupation of Guersney in WW11. Great stories very well-acted-& the dark side of occupation also shown e.g. lady librarian deported to France & German soldier summarily shot for fraternisation!

I have to say, this is a very watchable and enjoyable series - I recall watching its original TV broadcast - and appears in many ways very authentic and importantly, believable. Like many TV productions of the time, the colour is a little weak, so you may have to adjust your screen to suit.
