I'm a Lymph Drainage therapist & I wanted to bring up a few points:
At 4:55, Dr. B talks about the lack of a pump in the lymph system. This is true, however, the lymph vessel walls have muscles in them that contract to move the lymph. The motion he talks about is thus not the main way the lymph moves, but it does aid the muscles in the lymph vessel walls do their job more efficiently. Same with the breathing (diaphragmatic breathing/tummy breathing is what stimulates what's called the Cysterna Chyli, in the abdominal area to move the lymph from the legs through the abdomen to their termination point behind the clavicles/collar bones into the left venous arch).
At 0:15, I'm not completely clear on whether he's talking about the lymph vessels, but it sounds like he is. He states that they carry oxygen & nutrients, but that's the job of the arteries. The lymph system is the clean up crew, so to speak. It carries waste products, proteins, immobile cells, cell fragments, bacteria, viruses, surplus water & large-molecular fats. So I agree with the latter 3 points: waste removal, immune cells & fluid balance.

I developed nerve damage when I was vegetarian and not eating enough. I was getting no B12 for three years and have had to recover.

This is why when you are sick for days and then you finally get up and get moving around you feel better within a few hours. This has happened to me several times.

I have "lymphatic congestion" and need to clear it out. This is based on symptoms and a thermography scan. What is a good way to clear it? Rebounding? More water? Skin brushing? Can you do a video on that, please?

Thank you Dr. Berg! The takeaway for me came at the very end: the lymph has no pump system & depends on our movement. I had no idea my recent, more sedentary lifestyle was responsible for my escalating lymph pain in breast/ arm pit area. Dry brushing & massage has been nothing more than a bandaid. I’m getting up now to move!

Thanks Dr. Berg. I have bilateral primary Lymphoedema in my lower legs and keep needing to explain to people what the lymphatic system is - it's amazing how little most of us know about our bodies!

Hey Doctor Berg! I found this oldie but goodie and thought to add that rebounding exercises increase the drainage of the lymph system. Kangoo jumps (which I am still saving to buy) and rebounders will help the lymph system better than any exercise.

Hey Dr. Berg, I have some really great questions for you. 1. Do you have any information on how to fix the lymphatic system if it’s leaking.? 2. Can the lymphatic system be fixed without surgery.? Are there anything a person can do or eat to stop their lymphatic system from leaking.?

great video. finally. the lymphatic system. but can you touch more on the actual lymphedema? I have a mild case. and have controlled it somewhat. but so many people don't truly understand the importance of this system. your adrenal day formula actually helped me lose water weight the 1st week. and my legs lost and inch. potassium was the key...
but I'd love to see what you know about this. thank you!!!!

Great video! Good to know that breathing helps keep the lymphatic system moving. That’s one thing I do every day :)
