Some Standard Characters are always going to end up better than others, but it's abundantly clear that Kuro is playing favorites when it comes to their standard banner. What makes Encore so great? What makes the other standard 5-star DPS feel worse?

My Encore deals so much damage it's not even funny. She was my second 5* after Verina and I got lucky with getting damn good echoes for her. Her damage is absolutly nuts. And now that I have Changli, her outro makes Encore even more busted.

Also worth noting that Encore might be the best standard 5* to teach players the more intricate parts of combat without punishing you, she can teach you, animation cancelling, swap cancelling and quick swap, all that without being overly difficult to get her damage across, now compare that with Calcharo and it's a big difference

as a pgr player, it's no such thing as "Too good for standard" in terms of Kuro's meta design, even in PGR the A-Rank fills in 60% of Meta than thhe S-Rank so if anything, it's highly possible that future 4-stars could be really good if not outright broken. Especially since Kuro didn't just release new 4-stars each patch

I pulled Changli on her first day, planning to main her. Two weeks later I got tired of maining her and I demoted her to parry sub dps. I went back and rebuilt Encore to main her again and I'm happier with her now! 😭

When CN tier list first release for 1.0 they put encore above jiyan without sig in T0 spot. I shocked.

CN was right she is underrated back then when on release where everyone wants calharo as there first dps rather then encore.

Look what happen now, encore is now better then calharo.

Well Calcharo's going to be fixed and that fix is called Xiangli Yao, So I guess that solves the standard electro character issue.

I've been maining Encore since day 1 and I absolutely love her playstyle, I'm still using Encore, Jinhsi, and Verina as my main team even though I have Changli and I absolutely love it because Jinhsi nukes everything and then encore cleans it up with pow pow pow pow pow lol

I was pretty much destined to be an Encore main, I wanted her so I made 2 accounts and played them both at the same time one on pc and one on mobile to have a better chance at getting her and I got her on BOTH ACCOUNTS at 50 pulls, then I selected Verina's banner and got her on my 2nd 10 pull, and I got Yinlin's weapon on my very first limited weapon pull at 1/80.

My luck continued for Jinhsi at 34/80 but her weapon was like 63/80... then for Changli I lost 50/50 to Encore again and had to go to pity twice for Changli. Basically I have an E2 Encore now because I also bought 1 copy from the shop. I used my standard selector ticket on Verina for her E1 too or Encore could be E3 rn but I kinda wish I got the panda girl I never remember her name.

While almost everyone at the start was glazing Calcharo, us Encore players were having fun killing everything on sight with our Cute Faced Encore killing machine

Well, not exactly. The thing about Fusion characters is that they all punch harder than their supposed role/rarity should be when it comes to raw damage numbers.

There seems to be a theme for each element:

Fusion is high raw damage.
Electro is rapid hits and vibration damage.
Aero is CC and utility.
Glacio is damage avoidance or mitigation.
Spectro is friendly to off elements and generalist.
Havoc is quirky specialist.

Right now Jinhsi is top DPS, but that is only because what Kuro envisions as the first phase meta teams don't have all the characters yet. Future Havoc and Fusion burst DPS characters are the ones likely to out damage Jinhsi, but may not have Jinhsi's flexiblity. Even if a Fusion burst DPS character only ties with Jinhsi, Changli will be a huge tie breaker. Havoc is more of a wild card.

It doesn't even need to be Encore. Even a lot of the 4 stars are very good on their own. For example, Chixia and Danjin. These two can be invested easily by F2Ps to S6. Their BIS weapons aren't hard to get either. To me this is more of Kuro just being generous with the whole thing. Of course, if you do pull Encore, she's very useful in quickly bursting down targets.

As an Encore main, I agree. She just feels so good and fast to play and her quick-swaping style gameplay and animation cancelling is really fun!

Something that i miss in the game is more universal outro skills. Like, changli buffs fusion dmg and liberation dmg, it feels that just encore can extract her full potential cause she heavily benefits from both buffs. I think that's cause we don't have many chars in the game yet, but i really hope that in the future they get rid of elemental damage buffs and focus more in being more diverse with the outro skills. I don't know why, but elemental damage outro skills are so boring and standard.

Edit: of course that with being diverse i don't necessarily mean that outro skills needs to buff all chars, specially if isn't a support, but i think its more about buffing only one attribute you know? Like, the chars that are getting the best of changli's outro are specifically fusion, liberation dmg based characters.

I actually got encore on release, but never built her. I was saving for changli, however after changli's trial I realized she's just not for me. But the problem was I had prefarmed a near perfect fusion echo set. I already had sanhua built and maxed out from jinhsi's banner. So I realized this was a sign, to finally build my encore. And my god does she slap! She was easily able to 3 star and this was with VARIATION Verina's weapon, not even a 5 star. Insane. But I am going for zhezhi and her weapon will be Encore's new best weapon even stronger than Stringmaster! Cant wait

Awesome video, thanks for your hard work. I fully agree, I use Encore with Changli and she is one of my favourite characters in the game. She is so fun to play, very flexible in her team compositions due to her quick-swap nature and she is just damn strong. I currently use the battle pass weapon for her and am eagerly awaiting Yinlin's rerun, just so I can get her weapon for my Encore. xD
