Major fires destroy homes in UK

Officials in the UK say recent heat waves have destroyed at least 60 homes in England.

Major fire incidents have been declared in London, the East Mid-Lands and south Yorkshire.

The largest fire was in Wennington in East London - where residents are now forced to rebuild.

The Australian Fire Service admitted a couple of years back that around 85% of all fires they battle every summer had a "Human element" in their cause as they diplomatically put it. To translate, most fires are caused by people either accidently or deliberate.

Most things do not catch fire by themselves.
Spontaneous combustion does not burn down homes no matter what the climate.
More often than not there is a human factor.

A compost heap caught alight. It spread to one house. The village fire engine(there used to be two) was miles away. It was 20 minutes before another one from Orpington arrived. By that time the wind had spread the fire to the house next door. Nothing to do with heat or climate.

I am not inclined to agree with the fact it was extreme temperatures that caused these fires

Never heard of houses just bursting into flames. What was the cause? Where did it start? Was it centered in a hot spot on the roof? Was it shrubbery?
Did Alien's hold a magnifying glass to the top of a building? Was it Arson? Electrical?

Here in the US it is hot all summer in the South. Never saw a house burn because of the heat. Wildfires usually.
