MOSAiC - Measuring the melting ice caps of the Arctic

preview_player
Показать описание
The Arctic is warming faster than anywhere else in the world and this is known to be affecting global weather systems. The MOSAiC expedition is in the region for a full year to gain a better understanding of the region’s climate system.

During the 12 month period the Polarstern will be the base for the interdisciplinary science expedition. There are over 600 scientists involved from all over the world with 60 on board at a time. In the face of isolation, cold and wandering polar bears, they will monitor and record data on the atmosphere, sea ice, the ocean under the ice, and its ecosystems.
