Michael K. Williams tells Stephen how he struggled to find his journalistic voice after accepting Jonze's offer to host "Black Market" on Viceland.

Watch The Late Show with Stephen Colbert weeknights at 11:35 PM ET/10:35 PM CT. Only on CBS.

---
Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

I fell in love with this man's talent on The Wire. D'Jango should've been his.. So glad he's getting a few of the many opportunities he deserves, cant wait to see him come into full command of his abilities over the course of the next few decades. Superstar under the radar

Wow. Beautiful articulation of the generosity of making yourself open to develop while people enjoy watching you.

This is why I love colbert over the other shows. I feel like he gets guests that maybe they wouldn't and it ends up exposing me to new things I wouldn't have otherwise heard of. I'm gonna go check out Black market now cause I was legitimately intrigued by this interview.

This is promotion working at its finest.

You should've gotten an Emmy nomination instead of kimmel, Cordon, fallon and especially marr, who has truly awful writing sometimes.

people are in pain because they're fucking broke.
all the technological gains we've made in our lifetimes has only resulted in an ever increasing hoard of wealth for the people at the very top of the ladder; people who do everything in their power to burn the ladder on their way up and squeeze the people beneath them. there's more than enough capital and resources in this world to feed and clothe and shelter the homeless and yet children are starving somewhere while some people pay 3, 000 dollars for sneakers in New York City.

society is fucked.
look around. it's all hostility. the gap between the haves and the have nots is widening by miles every day.
