Google today have announced the price for a pair of Google Glasses it is $1500 (£965).

Project Glass NOW has a Price, the camera equipped glasses were shown off by Google today at their conference with the Nexus 7 tablet and Jelly Bean 4.1.

Project Glass is still in development and will not be coming out soon for you or I soon.

However a early adopter called "'Explorer Edition' was unveiled today for $1,500 (£965)

Any developers who want to get their hands on them can pre-order a pair for delivery early next year.

On the side of the glasses is a touchpad for control, with a display positioned over one of your eyes. The details about the glasses are still pretty vague.

But Google did say they have multiple radios for data communication, and a gyroscope so the glasses can tell your position and orientation.

Google sees two uses for Glass glasses.

Number 1 - Can capture videos and photos taken in those split seconds when you wish you had a camera but there isn't one to hand, cloverfield in real life well maybe.

Secondly, the specs give you an augmented reality view of your surroundings, layering information over whatever's in front of you. That could be used for, directions,traffic updates or even information on the person you're talking to.( I know a bit scary)
