Thankyou so much for covering this. I’ve read this story a few times but have never seen it covered on YouTube. Even when their are countdowns of evil people from history, Elizabeth/Elzebet Bathory and Vlad Tepes (Dracul) are always included but never Gilles De Rais. I’m looking forward to listening to this.

A small point, there was no Protestant church when De Rais was committing his crimes, the French hated the English because of the rape and pillaging that accompanied warfare during the 100 years war.

Not an expert in French pronunciation.
But I’d say “Guy” is pronounced “ghee” as rhyming with “see”. ✌️
This would be as the French-Canadian hockey player Guy LaFleur pronounced it. 🏒

Please understand that Gilles is pronounce Jeel with a soft J -- certainly not as Jill as in Jack and Jill. It's very easy to find that out.
