Nile has been waiting years to get the keys to a HUMMER EV, and finally this 2025 GMC Hummer EV SUV 3X gets it's Spotlight here on PRN_TestDrive!

This First Drive on the 2025 GMC Hummer EV SUV 3X has been a long time coming. Ever since the Hummer brand was resurrected, we figured this vehicle was just vapourware, something to build buzz and excitement without actually going into production. Well, we were wrong. Very wrong. Because we're now in to the 2025 model year for the GMC Hummer EV, showing us that GM is committed to build these behemoth electric vehicles.

In our First Drive we go over the technical specifications and pricing, and changes for the 2025 model year. As this is a carryover from 2024, the only real change for 2025 is the addition of two new paint colours, and the omission of the Omega Edition exclusive to the 2024s. Nile then goes inside to discuss the overall look and feel of this SUV, before hitting the streets to see just how big this vehicle really is.

Question about charging this thing. Is the a charger you can have in your garage to charge at night while the car not in use? If so how much is it and can you get it from the dealership?

I actually saw one in the wild last weekend, charging at an Electrify Canada here. It did make my bZ4x seem like a lil hatchback, but that does get me 13.5-17 kwh/100km depending on season

The hummer needs such a big battery to propel the weight that is created from having such a big battery.

I wouldn't trust that super cruise too much. I own a 2024 Hummer EV and, three times now I've had it glitch and suddenly disengage. Albeit, it does warn you and vibrate the seat but if you're in a turn, it immediately starts going straight with no prior warning. Since GMC hasn't perfected this yet, I wish they would at least have it keep the wheel turned at the last state it was in for a couple seconds after it warns you so you have time to take over. That would be much better than it suddenly straightening out on you.

Pretending to trying to purchase this vehicle that is way above your paygrade is comical. The dealership looked at your analytics after they promised a review article and changed course, citing "recall" or anything else they could think of as the bigger content providers got your originally intended article.
