I imagine this happens because the “girl child” character model has an animation at the end of their sprint where they almost fall forward and “wobble” to keep their balance. The reason why you’re getting the facial expressions here is likely because you’re canceling that animation by turning around - so all you’re left with is the facial expression command, which resolves normally.

Im very late to this but if someone didn’t say already, it’s because when you stop suddenly they tend to almost fall forward and have to catch themselves. They react in shock to almost falling over, and doing it this way causes only the expressions to play and not the animation.
