Both are fantastic but I'd prefer a PRS any day

That Gibson sounds nice man. Have a good day.

The Gibson seems to have a much higher output, it seems a lot hotter. But clean the PRS is miles ahead, warmer and yet more defined tone. Cool video mate !

I made the decision a few years ago to buy a Les Paul. Always wanted one for all the reasons people want them. They are iconic.
Searched for a few months. Traveled to a bunch of guitar shops. Tested every Les Paul I could from a standard all the way up to a custom.
Tried to find one that felt right. A bunch sounded great, but didn't feel great.
Randomly walked into my local shop and there was a SC 594 semi hollow on the wall. I was there with my friend who was looking to buy. Felt awesome. So as my friend kept grabbing guitars I sat and played the 594. Put a deposit on it and picked it up a month later.
Since then I have only played an R9 that felt as comfortable.
I'm yet to own a Gibson, but I think at this point it is more likely to be an es 335.

The Gibson sounds so much better than the PRS. Big, full, warm and round.

I preferred the PRS for the first 3 playthroughs (Clean and Dirty) and the Gibson for the last 2 Metal playthroughs. Nice comparison!

I like the PRS. I love the bass of that guitar. Also the PRS have a very nice natural resonance. For my, PRS is the best guitar in the world

I like them both for different reasons. Clean the LP had more of a chime. Dirty PRS had more met to the tone in my opinion

PRS clean has a nice mid cream. On the Clean. Gibson actually not as balanced, same pickups?

They sound close with crunch and distorted amp settings but I do prefer the more prominent highs on the PRS. That's personal taste, of course. Both guitars sound awesome. I sympathize with your choice for the Gibson because ultimately it comes down to how comfortable a guitar is to play. I consider the neck to be the most important part of a guitar. If it feels like a chore to play because the neck is too big, too small, to wide or to narrow it doesn't matter how premium quality a guitar is.

Somehow I love the "sponginess" tone on PRS.

A more fair comparison is testing an lp vs a McCarty with the 58/15 tm's since they have higher output than the lt version.

A good ax is a good ax. You have two good guitars and they sound different and they should. I own a lot of guitars and each one sounds different and I played many different ones. I personally prefer a Gibson and a Telecaster but that's just me. I do like the PRS and they have their own sound too. It depends on what you're looking to do at that moment. It's nice to have a lot of tools in your shed because they all do different jobs. I don't understand why people say this guitar is the best, for who? If it is the best for you, that's great. I like both of your guitars and you sampled them well and they have each their own sound. I say, keep both and keep rockin!

Would love to see PRS offer Core 594s with their Pattern Thin neck profile...

PRS is better, because it comes ready to play from Factory! It doesn't need any fixing like the Gibson

The pickups make this comparison inconclusive. The PRS SC594 was the winner for me after my own personal trial and error and using the same pickups in both it and my Les Paul. It took me owning 5 different LPs until I finally got a great sounding one, which is a common issue with Gibson. On the other hand took a shot in the dark on a used 594 and it was perfect (just like the 2 other core USA and 3 SEs that I have owned). The thing is the stock pickups in the PRS are very off from my preferences and are the primary reason for such the drastic difference in this comparison.

I used Bare Knuckle Black Dogs and Abraxas in both guitars, and the PRS was the noticeable winner for me in both cases for me. Although it was admittedly a marginal return when you factor in cost, at least when comparing just the one Gibson that turned out to be a worthy keeper. Once you factor in buying and selling until you get a good Gibson and also all of the time wasted fighting tuning issues these Gibson's are notorious for, the price difference goes away and then the opportunity cost on the enjoyment front makes the PRS an easier decision.

But I am shifting over to Kiesel now despite my love for my 594 because I need the larger control cavity and I can bring myself to butchering up the beautiful PRS with an Evertune bridge, which is something I do need.

I love PRS and their quality but I prefered the Gibson in this comparison. Hard to describe but the Gibson has more character.
