My son also has CKD and had a vesicostomy as well as a ruptured bladder when he was a baby. We did the same thing. Pad across the top to catch all the pee. It was kind of bulky but it worked! He got his vesicostomy closed when he was around 2 years old but we still go see a urologist and nephrologist regularly.

Our son had a ureterostomy as well. We became quite adept at positioning that poise pad in the right spot to avoid leaks. 😂 He had to have a transplant when he was 11. Now he's 17 and 6ft tall! Blessings to you and your family.

You guys are phenomenal !! A new baby is such a learning curve. Then to have this type of surprise! Baby seems well cared for, fed, dry clothed, and lots of love and is very happy!! I use disposable diapers with a heavy pad like that for my disabled dog. I use a reusable diaper around the other two. It works great!
