Steven Crowder is a Fraud | Change My Mind

To clarify slightly, by "fraud" I mean Steven Crowder's little conversations are a sham. It could also be that Crowder is also espousing beliefs he doesn't hold for a pay cheque, but I don't have any evidence of that. If I were to find out he was just doing it for the money though, I would not be the least bit surprised.

Crowder's mind is _not_ open to being changed. That's what makes his "Change My Mind" segment so fundamentally disingenuous. He's not arguing in good faith.

I mean Crowder could literally argue for Flat Earth and "win" those debates, basically because the average person going about their day doesn't have the off hand knowledge to counter specific arguments or call BS on arguments based on untruths, meanwhile he is prepared.

He also interviews so aggressively, and thats a big problem with his technique. Notice his fast gesturing, leaning in very close to the person, voice raised just a bit louder than the other person, and frequency of cutting off the other person while they're talking. All hes doing is trying to overpower the other persons argument.

The word for what Crowder is doing, (among other less favourable sounding ones), is called sophistry. Crowder is a sophist, using superficially plausible propositions to make fallacious arguments. It's pretty common, but is especially insidious when done in bad faith.
