Las Vegas street performers can range from wildly talented to downright hustlers. Busking & performing for tips is fine. Harassing, berating & ganging up on our tourists to extort tips is not acceptable. These tips will help you have a safer & more enjoyable visit. Since this video was originally posted, Vegas Joe (Tiger King) has retired this character and violinist Alex Rivera moved to Seattle. Regardless, the messaging remains the same. I have a guide in my profile to help you find the best things to do or skip in Vegas. Let me help and follow me for all the Vegas. ❤️

I love how she says they'll rip you off and then proceeds to tell you how much of a rip-off tip you should give them

That is new. I used to live in Vegas and they must have started the circles withing the past two years. That is actually a great idea.

an old lady handcuffed me and said my friend had to pay my bail to get out of the cuffs. We did not pay her and she eventually let me out of the cuffs. Very awkward experience. Just walking down the strip and getting handcuffed was def a first for me.

This is one of the reasons we love you so much. You make suggestions and we just go. No walking around blindly dealing with this unfortunate stuff!! Thanks again for all your hard work.

I live in LV and the rumor is that there is one lady who makes all the costumes for the “showgirls”. They are true hustlers and their photo taking hustle is a guise to solicit guys for prostitution. I’ve never engaged with these girls, but I’m a local that works on the strip and I deal with working girls on a daily basis. DO NOT come to LV looking to engage with working girls walking the Boulevard. You are far more likely to get robbed or worse than you are to have a night with these ladies.

I was carrying shopping bags from Gucci, Versace and more and two showgirls ran up to me and took me by each arm and forced me to have a picture. I think I gave them $5 dollars. One showgirl was sick and coughed all over me said she needed money to pay her rent. I managed to escape but not after one of them made fun of me and said “ if you can afford to wear a Gucci belt you can afford to give me more money.”

I have not returned to Las Vegas and it made me feel cheap, scummy and embarrassed.

There needs to be better security over these people or tourists will go elsewhere.

That is really sad. People begging in the street in horrible costumes.

It's gotten worse over the years. My first time in Vegas, you can ask for pictures and they wouldn't ask/demand anything. Unless they were actual street performers. Fast forward to around 2022, first time we went as a family. My youngest was about 8 at the time, there was a Spiderman, Captain America, and someone else. He wanted a picture with them, got the picture and then one of them was like. It's $15. We're like what? "Yeah, $5 for him, 5 for him, 5 for me." We weren't told that we had to pay! He responded with an attitude, "We don't have to be out here." Look, man. Here's $5, it's the lowest bill I have and just walked off. The "showgirls" walking around with pasties and etc, advertise $50 for pictures! They're not even real showgirls. Be careful if you're trying to get pictures from these people. You're better off getting better pictures for free from cosplayers at a Con or themepark like Six Flags, Disney, or Universal Studios.

Every single thing about Vegas is why its basically a giant dead mall.

The fact that her instructions on dealing with these street performers are the same instructions a park ranger would give regarding bears should be enough to deter any interaction.

Learned the hard way about these sort of folks on Bourbon Street in NOLA. Wish we had someone warn us ahead of time, as it was scary to have the performer get aggressive.

Thank you for warning folks!

I don’t know what the laws are in Vegas but if someone grabs me for no reason, they will be on the ground.
