I highly appreciate people who collect these pieces because they’re truly art to me. As a teen I was obsessed with fashion. I used to watch the style channel religiously, Id spend money on all the fashion magazines. I have some amazing shoes and bags and a few clothing items that I’ve never worn, And some that don’t fit, but I love them just because they’re beautiful.

I do believe clothes to be art pieces, so in some ways his collection is beautiful and highly respectable in the sense that he is an art historian. however, I believe the magic and romance of fashion is the wearing, degrading, sharing, and adventure of clothes. I feel like archive culture has really had a big plasticization effect on modern fashion and modern pop culture in general. its a shame these pieces aren't finding a life of their own outside of a closet.

That moth moment sank my heart to the bottom. If noone is going to wear these clothes, spray with bug spray everywhere, for god's sake! You should educate yourself on garment preservation at the very least if you gonna call yourself a collector.

pretty tragic to have all these incredible clothes but not even wear them lol. collecting is so boring.
