IN LIGHT OF COMMENTS ABOUT THE CONCERNS ABOUT RECYCLING - I REQUESTED AN OFFICIAL COMMENT FROM DUOLAB.

THEY SAY

Recycling and plastic waste reduction is something we take very seriously.

We have partnered with leading sustainability experts TerraCycle to ensure our capsules are properly recycled and repurposed into other items. We have created a dedicated collection and recycling scheme to give your empty capsules a new lease of life after use.

It’s free, easy and convenient. Collect your used capsules in the Duolab ceramic bin (it comes free with the purchase of a device for the launch). Then, simply send your capsules back in the pre-paid envelope provided with every purchase or drop them in to any L’Occitane store (over 80 in the UK). Together with TerraCycle, we will responsibly recycle them.
There’s also a reward scheme, meaning the more you recycle, the more benefits you’ll receive.

In terms of animal testing – Duolab do not test on animals and are 100% cruelty-free.

I am always in awe of your dedication & the sheer amount of work that must go into your great, informative videos. I've been guided by you on many things and bought items that have really worked but here... I was struck by the amount of plastic, one use sachets, packaging etc. So, none of this lot for me x

I like a good skin tool but most of these seems to be the sort of gimmicks that would fall victim of a massive declutter the moment I have a Marie Kondo moment.

I can't help thinking that this is just a bunch of crap that sounds good to buy, then it sits in the cabinet for a few years and then at a landfill forever.

L'Occitane owns Elemis? Oh wow... this brings me to a new video idea. And you're the best for it Nadine. Could you share all those who owns who secrets that nobody talks about? I'd love to know..

The main issue with duo lab in my opinion is the amount of plastic produced!

I recently bought the Foreo (white ultra sensitive version) to replace my clarisonic mia, which I've had for about 10 years. Even with the delicate or cashmere head, I always felt the clarisonic was quite abrasive on my delicate eczema prone skin and only used it a couple of times a month most of that time. I liked how clean my skin felt, but I don't need a lot of manual exfoliation, I much prefer the Foreo which gives the sonic cleansing without the exfoliation (the ultra sensitive doesn't even have all the nubby things) and I'm also enjoying pushing my skincare in with the other side. For those worrying about waste, not using replacement brush heads is more environmentally friendly and I gave the clarisonic to my partner who likes to use it prior to shaving. Not using the brushes every day means they last for a long time (I replaced them about every six months and cleaned them regularly). I do think the LED light masks are interesting, but they're very expensive and I think I'll wait till the technology becomes slightly older and less expensive. The single use skincare will be of more use to therapists I feel, rather than the normal consumer. Apart from the waste issues I bet the refills are very expensive on a monthly use basis, so just another way to seperate us from our cash. The video was interesting though and perhaps a sign of things to come. Best wishes.

Yours are the only gadget vids worth watching. Hooked on the Tria SBL. Thanks so much! xoxo

Thank you Nadine for an informative, entertaining video! It’s up to every individual to decide what’s right for them, and them alone. I love to see and be aware of what’s out there in beauty whether I choose to buy it or whether I can afford it. So keep up the good work 👌🏻😁

I made mixed my cream with vitamin c at home without a machine. I mix the ordinary 100% vitamin c powdered with my moisturiser. It is simple and more friendly to the environment.
It is great to use technology but the fact that it means using small zaches it means more waste for the environment

That is a LOT of plastic packaging for the Duolab, not very environmentally friendly. 😔

I love the research and novelty you bring us, NB! But I'm not using any of these. I do love red light and have the Quasar MD, but that's as far as I'm going with any of that. xx

The 1st one seemed very hard for you to squeeze out?
I agree with everyone... I'm over gadgets and worry about future landfill ! I'm beginning decluttering and trying being minimalist !

Here in the States Rowenta meant the top of the line German steam iron. So it follows they would make really good skin care gadgets.

I bought a touch sensitive eye massager from Primark in 2018. It was a couple of quid, I still have it and it still works. It looks very similar to that nurse Jamie product as well 🤔

Nespresso and similar machines are environmental nightmares. These gadgets looks extremely wasteful and full of plastic. Does the company recycle? Do you know the life cycle of the recycling?

Wow, how much paper and plastic waste...besides, they test on animals~

It appears to be a meaningless, gadget for something I can do in the palm of my hand with my own fingertips.
