AI Won't Replace Hollywood Writers Says Stephen King.

Stephen King seems to think AI won't replace Hollywood writers, and that the WGA is kind of overreacting. Well, AI won't replace the GOOD ones, that is. He also throws shade at Hollywood writers, saying most shows feel like they're already being written by AI. OOF.

I guarantee you if Disney starts doing all their writing with AI nobody would even know the difference. The people they have writing now are much much worse than AI. So if there is a difference, the quality would probably get a lot better. Unless they program it to be woke and biased.

Nobody wants AI to replace writers, we just want good writers to write shows. Hollywood needs to exorcise the woke clowns. AI should be used as a tool, but it obviously needs a person behind it.

I think AI is a threat to mediocre writers, but i do think their is an art to good story telling that AI is just not smart enough to do.

Based on what has been coming out of Hollywood for the past few years, the writers room was already a bot farm. At least with actual bot farms those in charge can say "that's a bad idea" without the ai crying -phobia and -ism on Twitter.

I can see AI being used for brainstorming and the rough drafts, then bringing in writers for the final draft.

Not that I like to defend Stephen King, but he also wrote "The Green Mile", "Stand By Me" and the "The Shawshank Redemption". He is a great writer when he wants to be.

I have been using Ai for a good 2 years now. For me this reminds me back in the day when Photoshop it the scene, then 3D packages became available. Same things are happening. People terrified the computer will replace the artist. What you find is these are tools that accelerate creative people. Example. My wife needed to write a cover letter for a film company admin job. If you ask an Ai to create a cover letter based on your resume, it can but it will be boring. What I did was ask the AI to take that boring cover letter and make it in the style of a Movie Trailer. The results were awesome and the studio that hired my wife said they passed around the cover letter to a bunch of people. Without that original creative idea, the Ai has nothing to work with. It's YOUR Creativity that makes amazing things with this new tool. You can conceptualize things in minutes rather than days or weeks or months. Ai is just another advanced tool that takes care of the grunt work so you can do more advanced ideas.

AI will never replace genuine artists, writers or musicians, there might be a few years where it's flavour of the month but eventually it will get sterile and boring and people will seek out genuine art made by people.
