If writers cant take royalties then musicians shouldnt either. If thats the case then a musician has no right to profit from their misic being played on radio stations or streamed on spotify. Youre clearly not understanding the difference between a product you create vs a service you provide they are completely different industries. Lastly, royalties are the only way to be properly compensated for the value you provide when the value you provide is unknown until well after the product is completed and published. How can you know what im worth before you see what my product is worth after youve sold it? If i did a bad job and the product sells poorly, i should make less money than if i did a good job and the product is extremely popular.

they should be able to do royalties but also at the same time if they choose to work for a company to write it makes sense that they arent getting royalties, although you dont fight the system / those that enslave us by fighting each other like they want, writers getting paid a relatively small amount when billions are made off their story, really its up to them what kind of business they want to do, the way i look at it though is this could maybe help writers that arent big shots get a lot of worth out of their writing potentially, than again a lot of the hollywood writers are part of the big shots / elites and are really well off / act like they arent, but still i think it makes sense they want royalties and it could help smaller writers too maybe?

These royalties aren’t going on rewatching dvds there’s are specifically doing a sale. And no AI will not replace writers in the near future the same way the calculator did not get rid of mathematicians and the camera did not get rid of the painter

Labor and intellectual property’s are two vastly different things. Think if you plumber invented a toilet that could never clog or an electrician improved upon an existing patent. Those ideas would belong to them. Let’s take “smells like teen spirit “ for example, Kurt cobain wrote arranged and recorded that completely original song. His estate will receive royalties from various forms of media that license that intellectual property.”( radio, movies etc ) . Not only does his estate receive royalties but so does the producer and anyone with a credit on that copyrighted material.
