Shared to my Facebook this is my experience as a single, low income mom.

This movie is about how slavery is still alive today in America. It will be an interesting watch, especially because I can relate to what’s happening with gig work. As a Spark driver, I’ve noticed a ton of immigrants taking on delivery jobs here in Missoula, and since July, I’ve barely been able to get orders. Now, I have to cherry-pick just to get 4 or 5 decent ones a day.

I don’t blame the immigrants for this—honestly, they’re just doing what they need to survive. The problem is this broken system. Gig work leaves us with no support. We’re responsible for taxes, all the costs of doing the job, and on top of that, these companies can kick us off the platform anytime they want, without any real reason.

This system needs to change so that anyone trying to make an honest living can do so without constantly being on the edge.
