I'm a firm believer that belt squat machines should be in every commercial gym for older lifters. They'll help many by putting less pressure on the back; anyone nursing a back injury will benefit from that type of machine.

Fully support this, and I recognize I’m probably rationalizing my preference, but I feel pretty sure my journey involves avoiding mass, not courting it, and maintaining muscle tone and fitness through cardio. But if the science, or life, prove me wrong, that’s fine. More power to everyone.
