"don't believe everything you think" is the best advice I've ever received. Thanks for sharing this very helpful video, Elizabeth !

Why does she feel so relatable to me ? She just seems like that one friend that u resonate with and wanna talk about urself for hours coz u both r same. 🖤

You content is going at a whole new level. This is such a radical way of thinking. The voice over artist in me has been blocking all my youtube videos. The only me that is a problem. Thanks for giving me this thought construct.

Absolutely brilliant. That is exactly the way we should treat ourselves. The saying: treat yourself like you would treat your best friend in the same situation.

We’re a one man / woman theater troupe in the play of our lives. One of the key insights I got after reading infinite game. I think there is a season for everything, and doing everything you want is a recipe to get none of it done. What are the 5 key roles you need to play in this season to build the 3 core identities you want to have by the end of this decade? Every other role gets benched. This will require some introspection but I think you have the intelligence and courage to pull it off.

What an interesting ideology. Honestly kind of wild that you’re applying things that work for interpersonal relationships to your own mindset and self talk. Elizabeth you never NOT give me something to think of

I love how you acknowledge that you have different versions of yourself. love this rant because it's so relatable! We probably all need to fire our manager "selves" at some point 😅

Oh my gosh this is too relatable… I never realised there are so many different Azmains that I need to negotiate with lol 😂 Doctor, son, YouTuber, chronic procrastinator, creator, artist, musician, anime binger, pathological perfectionist – I’m good at managing others, but NOT myself lmao

Yes! This is along the lines of what I've been thinking for myself, too. Thank you for putting yourself out there and sharing this!

Wow this video came at just the right time! Having recently transitioned from working at a law firm to working for myself, I (Em) only just realized that the way I talk to and treat myself (ie never satisfied, bad at taking leave, etc.) would have been a totally unacceptable way to treat someone else if I were at my previous job. It would definitely have - as you excellently put it - gotten me sent to HR lol! Really love this idea of firing yourself as manager, which I will now promptly to do myself as well :)

It's impressive that you have sat down to think about all the different versions of yourself and what they require to get things done in a way that doesn't cause suffering. It's good that you are taking steps to improve this and I wish you the best of luck.

What a genius and clever analogy to express something that is SO relatable to many of us!!

Great points! I recently starting doing Bullet Journaling and I have found it to be an extremely helpful framework to get myself organized, mindful, and purpose-driven.

I also have ADHD and I’ve found that the single most useful technique for getting things done is to count to 3 and then just do the thing.

This interrupts my natural tendency to get lost in thought and before I know it I’ve gained momentum and the task is already halfway done.

I so relate to this! I think I’ve gotten so far as thinking about different roles I have in my life, but I’ve never thought about how I’m the manager of all those roles as well.

Love to hear more about what you’re trying out to manage yourself better or things you’re reading to learn about it!

Absolutely correct. Be nice to yourself just like you would be to others. This is a great video. I am really enjoy your videos. Thanks

Love your content, it's very unique and honest.

I think you are over ambitious with having so many parallel tracks, it's hard for any manager to run. I maybe wrong here, only you can question yourself and really know the answer. I feel that it is OK to take it slow, as long as you are growing.
