I had surgery for a meniscus tear, two months later I needed a partial knee replacement. Seven months after my partial knee I needed a total knee replacement. Once that scope enters that capsule it’s a crap shoot.

Medial Meniscus tear was diagnosed more than eight years ago. Now latest MRI suggested Grade II Medial Meniscus tear in Right Knee. Sometimes I feel severe pain and unable to move my knee but after some days pain goes away. What should I do?

for grade 2 tear on posterior side of medial meniscus, positioned in outer 2/3 of meniscus,
1. how much time should i give to see the PT effect and pain to go away
2. can a tear on the posterior side cause a pinching pain on the anterior side

Not sure if i so but i had a bad injury YEARS ago mri 5+ years ago meniscus (specifically) was too swollen to see, if i pivet my knee wrong to this day or walk too much i get alot of pain, someone has to pull my knee for it to feel better, talked to my doc and he recommends another mri cuz it sounds like a flap tear, idk if i should request surgery or not cuz the pain can he unbarable and i hate always having to worry about doing something wrong to cause pain. and its been over 5 years, pisses me off somtimes

I had surgery for both my knees for torn meniscus, when I was about 20, now I’m 32yr and each time I play soccer it keeps getting swollen. So I throw in heat just like I was recommended and swelling goes away about 2 days. But I’m not sure how long I can keep this up for.. I don’t want to stop playing soccer but I’m just not sure what else to do…

Wish I could get mine checked out. I am in constant pain as I work on my feet all day. My knee swells, I have constant achey sore feeling in it, sharp shooting pain. If it is torn idk how I did it. I felt no pop or anything. I have a ton of crepitus on my knee cap. You can hear it when I bend knee and you can also feel it

I got a bucket handle meniscus tear during wrestling and the surgeon wanted me to get surgery but I decided not to and wait so I stayed off it of 6-8 months then went back to my daily activity. I have no symptoms at all such as pain, locking, and swelling. Can I get your reason to this. Btw I’m 16

I have a chronic meniscus tear in both knees, i was told no amount of physio or exercise would fix the issue, so its deal with it or get surgery, but the stats around issues after has scared me into thinking what is best to do as i only suffer very bad pain twice a year

Ortho told me he thinks I have a meniscus tear and ordered an MRI. MRI came back negative, but he said he still thinks it's torn. How likely is that to be the case?

I have Meniscus Tear of grade 3 on the posterior horn of medial meniscus - left knee

I was undergoing physiotherapy before it for the past 2 months until MRI showed positive result.

Pain : only when I sit with cross legs down, or any twist moment

Knee joint gets stuck for a second when bent while doing weight bearing activities like walking downstairs, when doing left knee forward lunges, jumping solely on the left knee, running etc.

Please let me if it can heal without surgery, if not, can it be repaired through arthroscopic repair instead of removal ( menisectomy)?
