The reason why she’s so grounded and humble is because of her longtime presence in the industry. She was acting in small movie roles and on stage for nearly 20 years, with zero recognition. Then Misery came along and she finally hit the big time. It was laughable when some critics called her “newcomer” Kathy Bates. Hardly.

My mom loved to watch misery when i was child, i remember as a kid almost crying for poor dude and being frightened of her .. for quite a number of years i was scared of her but now after watching her in AHS .. wow! Such a talent!

She's actually played three King characters. Annie Wilkes, Dolores Claiborne, and a lot of people forget her cameo as Rae Flowers in the 1994 adaptation of The Stand.
