I read a 4 spiritual Laws tract years ago from Campus Crusade...and thought I was saved for many yrs... but God put people in my path to question my salvation...and Praise our Savior...I realized I had never REALLY repented from my sins..but only repeated a prayer from the tract...when the Holy Spirit showed me my sins genuinely Lord saved me gloriously....! and I actually told my children that were grown and had children of their own... that i thought I had been saved but I wasnt...Im so thankful and humbled that Jesus saved me...John 17:17-26

ALL it takes is a sincere prayer.
Is the person sharing with them working with The Holy Spirit or just doing a sales job?
I have led many people in the "sinner's prayer" and know that they were saved.
The first time I remember, we chatted with an elderly man at the next table. He knew nothing about the Gospel. We shared Jesus with him and prayed with him to accept Christ. He immediately started going to Church. He loved Jesus. Several months later he had a heart attack and died, knowing His Saviour.
Today is the day of your salvation. Now is the time. Do not frustrate the simplicity of The Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is by grace.

That's so true. You have to repent from your heart, not repeating a prayer. Lots of Christians still doing today, is saying the sinner's prayer. ❤

I like how Ray Comfort puts it: you're a doctor and your patient is sick, but doesn't know it and will die without the cure. Do you give them the cure or show them the x-ray? If you give them the cure, they will reject it because they don't believe they are sick. If you show them the x-ray first then they will want the cure.

#1 biggest mistake: Not sharing what God has done for you. If you can't tell someone your personal testimony you have no business witnessing. Quoting Scriptures to unbelievers is tantamount to preaching at them. The Apostle Paul often shared his personal testimony. He didn't often quote Scripture he told the Biblical account in his own words.

I went on a mission trip and the only requirement was for people to say the sinner's prayer. Everyone bragged about how many people had said the sinner's prayer as if it was a competition. They didn't understand why I was so upset and angry.
