Not a bad list, but no love for the silent era, huh? Oh well, ten's a hard target.

I might've picked Wilder, Bresson, Tarkovski, or Lynch before Nolan. I love Memento and Dunkirk; Insomnia's pretty good; the rest of his films leave me cold at best, annoyed at worst.

At least you didn't include Tarantino. That might've annoyed me as much as Tenet did.

Personally, I'd add Fritz Lang, not just for Metropolis and Dr Mabuse but M, The Big Heat, and The Woman in the Window, Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplin would also be considered, but F W Murnau would've got a guernsey for Nosferatu, The Last Laugh, Faust, and especially Sunrise: A Story of Two Humans. And then there's Jacques Tati. And Andrei Tarkovsky. And...
