Well I've always gone with if it's the direction it's supposed to be still it's fractured. If it's literally bent like a new joint, that there's a break

I hate it when a doctor is like i don’t want to say something is something when it’s obvious just because I might be wrong .
I spent a week trying to get treatment for my 3rd degree full thickness burn. And the er docs told me; it’s healing normally that’s how it’s supposed to look (it was green oozing and had an odor) it’s less then one % the burn center won’t do anything ( it was on the part of the hand between thumb and pointer finger on my left hand ( I am Ambidextrous and couldn’t move my hand it hurt to bad) it was also on my forearm and my face by my lip)

I finally get to burn center and they were like when did this happen? A week ago? Didn’t you go to the er ?? 3 times they said you wouldn’t do anything because it was “healing normally” and was “less then one %” saw the nurses eye twitch and the doctor wanted to get me in that day to clean it up had to go in next day due to having eaten something.

Doing better but might need additional surgery on hand due to pain and some loss of muscle strength and range of motion but I believe that’s more due to severity of burn rather then delayed treatment

But due to the er docs treatment of this being normal I did almost stop trying to get treatment, my mom forced me to go back one more time and they said go to burn center as soon as possible

We would never give specifics on the ambulance because some people freak out and can injure themselves and/or us. In a moving vehicle you need to keep patient calm. We leave that to docs in ER!

Had a biker freak out and hit the new guy, who told him his femur was sticking out of his chaps. He broke his wrist on the guard rail slamming it down screaming and he broke new guys nose..we later found out, he was on PCP! New guy learned his lesson the hard way. That was one hell of a call! Ughh

I thought a fracture was just when the bone gets splintered or broken, but stays in about the same place, and a break is when it's actually twisted or bent in a wrong direction.

Mom had an open compound fx of her left wrist 10 years ago. The pain from that was horrible.

I had a severe compound fracture of the radius and ulna when I was 15. Both bones were badly deformed and I had to get multiple surgeries, skin graft, nitrogen therapy to reduce scarring, it also got infected. I just remember all the doctors asking what went into my skin where the open wound was. My arm had a friggin hump in it.
Now I’m left with quite a big scar and when I move my fingers you can see the tendons contract and move. Wigs people out all the time 😂😂😂
