Those look like extremely steep stairs, the change also gives something to hold on to, but hopefully there will be a railing.

Looking at the joists it seems like you remove a post at a junction point. What did you have to do to make sure the house was still properly supported. It looked load bearing

Looks like you pulled studs out from a load bearing beam above.
Don’t know what the span of that run is to each wall, which is hopefully where the “know what you’re doing” comes in…

Yeah, it’s really easy to saw through a support post. Not so easy to dig yourself out of the rubble of your collapsed house. This guy is being a little vague about what investigation needs to be performed first.
