The first Tiki drink is often credited to Donn Beach, also known as Don the Beachcomber. Donn Beach was a bar owner and restaurateur who created elaborate tropical-themed bars and restaurants in the 1930s and 1940s. In the 1930s, he began serving exotic cocktails in his bar, Don the Beachcomber, in Hollywood, California.

One of his most famous creations is the "Zombie," which is considered by many as the quintessential Tiki drink. The Zombie typically includes a mix of different rums, fruit juices, grenadine, bitters, and other secret ingredients. It became a signature drink in Tiki culture and contributed to the popularity of Tiki bars and cocktails in the mid-20th century.

Tiki drinks, in general, are known for their tropical flavors, imaginative presentation, and often include a mix of various rums and fruit juices. The Tiki cocktail culture has since expanded, and many variations and new creations have emerged over the years
