I hope everyone's excited for the 15th when we get Hunt Showdown 1896 the new rebranding of the game with the update to the Cry Engine 5.11, with a new map, new event and various other changes coming, here is a VERY quick rundown of all the major changes we can expect.

The necro change is needed, as a solo it will save you from the dreaded trade kills, but no longer will normal squads have to take 5 minutes off to fully burn every body after a large fight in fear of getting shot in the back. I am going to miss necro-ing teamates, but I am of the staunch opinion that mid combat revives is a skillset in this game, and look forward to that taking a precedence again as well.

Headshot kill at any distance is willlD! good and bad haha, I wanna see a derringer pistol kill at like 500m

It’s gonna be a great update. The ONLY thing I don’t like is the changes to looting, having it a 2 use rule was good for team coordinating, and you could see evidence of people going through an area if tool/ammo boxes were empty or half empty

Gonna point out, the new map is in Colorado, It's in the Central US not the North (It's right above New Mexico.)

Thank god necromancer got nerfed, that shit was so annoying to play against. I'm not sure about that headshot change though...

The current ui is bad if you're a console player, now we PC players get some kinda iphone / COD menu system that specially designed more for console players then PC players, can't say i'm thrilled, rather have had the option between ui's but i guess i have to get used to it ...

Not sure about that unlimited Looting of Boxes and Hunters. It was a very nice aspect of the game, that you sometimes come to a resupply wagon and only get one ammo box because someone else looted everything. Made the game a little bit more "hardcore" in a very good way. Ammo Management got way to easy in the last updates and this makes it even easier...

As a solo player, I am really looking forward to the necro changes. I was never a really big fan of standing up multiple times and I used to play back in the day when you only died once. Now I only have to worry about reviving once and it's the best possible revive you can get.

i love the necro nerf but im sad to see theyre trying to make gun battles shorter. one if my favorite things about the game is that it can be extremely fast paced or slow and tense and “diplomatic”.

Assuming the engine devs go by semantic versioning, the 5.11 version would in fact be called "five point eleven". It's not a decimal, it's a chain of numbers :P In this instance referencing the 11th minor version of the 5th major version.

The new UI looks way better, but works a lot worse, it takes a lot more time to fully equip a character.

Some people afraid of the headshot at any range change, but people are forgetting the fact that youll have to aim above your target thats constantly moving.

You know, this game needs a finisher button on it, where if you shoot someone to zero health, they go down and writhe in pain on the ground. The mechanics of the game still consider them dead, so they have to be resurrected. But they writhe in pain on the ground and they grown and moan.
Which will attract zombies and dogs if they are around, and the zombies and dogs can finish them off..
Or a player can walk up and cut scene style melee them for a finisher, or head shot them for a cutscene head shot execution.
Since they are considered dead while they're down, it doesn't change the mechanics of the game. And it adds an extra element of noise to the game that could cause monsters to be more influential in circumstance. Could be a lot of fun.
