Try manual mode with auto iso. That way you can control shutter speed instead of hoping the subject is sharp

I’m new to photography and wanting to get into street photography. I’m still getting the hang of aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. Thanks for the tips!

This kinda sounds opposite to what classic street photography is, where a wider field of view is generally preferred. Wider lenses naturally lead to a greater depth of field, and less subject separation in focus.

Also, famous street photographers historically utilized smaller apertures (f8 and up) to help ensure a larger range of the image is in focus, and to help when shooting against the light to create contrast through dynamics.

What you are describing is a setup for “street portraiture”, which is related but more of an offshoot, and not the majority of what makes up street photography.

Come on people. Stop using the lowest aperture every time.

This is probably the most un street thing ever. If you said "portrait photography" youd be right. Wide ish prime, somewhere between 24 and 50mm, f8 to f22, 1/200 or faster shutter and auto iso.
Make sure to not capture "a subject" that looks like its keyed onto a blur, but rather a scene, documenting a moment in everyday life.

I’m pretty new to photography and I was just wondering why u prefer aperture priority rather than fully manual? Is that to be more effective and trust the camera to properly expose the images itself with ISO and shutter speed? Loving the content btw! 😊

It's not the lowest aperture. It is the widest. Most photographers assume a low aperture is f22 etc.

If you want the blurry background, why don’t you fix your aperture/shutter and then set ISO to auto?
