The US has several space colonization projects, like the Artemis Program. But there's a lot more to look forward to. SpaceX's Starship, Orbital Reef, Axiom Station, and tons more.

Starship, even if it doesn’t make its fully reusable goal, will be huge. Especially if Starship is cheap to build (likely given how fast they are building them) putting 100s of tons into orbit would be massive for lunar colonization.

I'm not sure, yes the USA has the ability too do this and the money. But is the political willpower there and is the private willpower there? There also are other major powers also looking into this as well, countries who are more willing to shovel resources and take risks with their crew: China, India, Russia.

Frankly though China is much more likely to do this all unless we see new space companies get going in the US, NASA get entirely new amounts of funding, or SpaceX get nationalized.
