A Look Inside A Prewar Gibson Banjo

This is a full-length (and rather tedious) video of my work one Saturday morning to check the heel fit of a mahogany 5-string neck built by Steve Huber onto a one-piece-flange Gibson Style 2 tenor banjo from around 1930 (serial or FON 9691-16). Spoiler alert - the neck heel had already been cut for a different banjo, so it didn't fit, but I went on and put a fresh head on the banjo to get it ready for a conversion neck later. This video is intended to simply offer a look inside this original pre-WWII tenor banjo and possibly some help to those who might need it regarding neck removal, head replacement, disassembly/re-assembly, etc. I am not a luthier and don't mean to imply that this is the right way to do this. Do it the way that works for you. Your mileage may vary! Thank you for watching.
