That Jane Eyre scene is my favorite part of the book.

I do love that Middlemarch one - there's something about it that just shows how much Dorothea has grown since her first engagement !

"I will learn what everything costs" l have read Middlemarch several times, and I have always been charmed by that line, so sweet and young!

My favorite chapter from "Jane Eyre" is chapter 12 where Jane makes the faithful walk to Hay to post a letter. The description of the wintry scene is exquisite and poetic. Perhaps one needs to grow up or live in an area that experiences winter to appreciate the prose. I am always disappointed that all the "Jane Eyre" adaptations never get the atmosphere right.

Hi Kate! Love your new mug! Loving Victober again this year! I've read Little Dorrit, Dombey and Son, and am now reading Far From The Madding Crowd. 😊

These are some great books! I'm glad you seem to like A Tale of Tow Cities this time around. It's one of my top favorite Dickens

My favorite chapter in Jane Eyre is the fourteenth, because of the lines "...the fire and the chandelier were not sufficient company for me" and "Most things free-born will submit to anything for a salary" :).

I'm catching up on Victober videos. I deleted Instagram a couple months ago and now, at Victober, is the only time I'm missing it.
I have Covid, so this Victober has been rough for me, with not much desire to read. The only books i am tackling are rereads - North and South, and Jane Eyre.

The Middlemarch passage you read is one of my favorites ❤❤ Same for Jane Eyre

Yay! Very interesting video, with some of my favorite books and authors. My favorite chapters aren't the same as yours, however.

Oh but I love mrs Proudie! She is such a wonderful character and where would Barchester be without her. Didn`t Trollope himself say he prayed she would live forever - if only to bring colour and life to their society!,
