North and South is a wonderful read, and Jane Eyre is one of my favorite novels of all time. I love your discussion of the unlikeable characters in The Portrait of Dorian Gray. The idea of a Turkish word of the day is a great idea! How interesting!

I love these videos! I might borrow it to talk about my favorite 5 novels. Though I will definitely have some crossover to your list. I’ve read all these books and they are all so good!

Jane Eyre remains a favorite for its 'cri de coeur' and moral of having faith in oneself, which ages well across over a hundred years 😍💕

Ooh, you've got the same version of North & South that I'm reading right now! So we're doing a de facto buddy read 🤩😬

Jane Eyre is one of my favourites from when I was younger. I recently read North & South and really enjoyed it. 😁📚

Oh yes I have heard of the phrase Jekyll and Hyde in American movies or TV shows (though I have never used it myself). I loved Jane Eyre when I read it 😍❤.

The Woman in White, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and Jane Eyre would be in my list as well. I am hoping to read The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde this month.

Great list. I reread Dorian Grey recently and enjoyed it considerably more the second time through.

I read Robert Louis Stevenson as a teenager, loved him, but I've never reread a book by him, but I think I should.

R L Stevenson led a very interesting life too--I found a children's book about one slice of his life--a trip to the US in the 1880s (I think?) and it was very informative, though for kids. 😍

I've read 3 or these books. The 2 I haven't gotten around to yet are The Woman in White and North and South.

I read them all, but need to re-read some. Especially Jane Eyre, my favourite book of all times :) I agree with your, her growth as a character is the most fascinating part of the novel, to consider it solely as a romance is reductive.
