Don’t Buy This - Samsung QD OLED G9 240Hz Monitor
Samsung will be releasing their OLED G9 240Hz gaming monitor soon and while the specs look very impressive there are a few issues. For starters it looks like this will be a 32:9 monitor which will surely have compatibility issues, and to make things worse it will also be insanely expensive.

I came into this video thinking there was something wrong with the monitor based off title but to discredit it because of aspect ratio is wrong. I have the original Neo g9 and it was a fantastic upgrade over my 21:9 LG I had before. I play FF14 and 32:9 is a dream for it. Yea 16:9 games like Street Fighter 6 for instance only utilize the center of the monitor but thats ok as long as you know what you are getting yourself into. The only issue that worried me was burn in and my 4 year old OLED tv still hasn't had any issue with it. So I have faith in this newer tech. Goodbye Neo G9 and hello OLED :)

If you've used the older 49 inch 1440p modules, they are incredible. I'm excited for this one.

I asked for this. I've been using 32:9 for a long time. I play some games in 32:9, some in 21:9, and others in 16:9. I Use software to split the monitor into smaller monitors for other resolutions.
The only thing I've wanted is an OLED version, and this is it.
Not all games do support it, but the ones that do are great, and the fact I can split it up is really nice.
Also These support PBP so I can have my work computer plugged in, and have it act as a 21:9 monitor, and my actual computer set up on a smaller 11:9 section on the side so I can work on them side by side. I can also set them to both be 16:9. There are no bezels and its very clean to have a single monitor.
I'm perfectly willing to drop $2100 on it.

1:28 - I asked for this. Samsung made this for me. Spreadsheets by day, FPS by night.

32:9 isnt just about gaming though. I have 32:9 for work and put it into 21:9 mode for gaming. But my preferred size would be 38 inch 4K vertical

32:9 makes more sense to me than 21:9. At least with 32:9 you can split it into two full 16:9 displays for most use and then use the full thing for games that support it. I wish I could get it, but to me I just can't go back from 4K. I have really good eyes and am incredibly sensitive to lower resolutions. With OLED I've noticed I'm also very sensitive to the moire effect which looks a lot like the matte display snow flaking look. Really wish more OLED displays just used a normal sub pixel layout like the Switch OLED does.

It's 2 1440p monitors side by side with 240hz refresh rate and QD Oled. A single Woled 1440p 240hz monitor is $1000 so I think $2100 is fair for this niche monitor.

32:9 in single player games is amazing, ill never go back

If I had the money I would buy it 100%, without even thinking twice, for me the problem is having to have a super PC for it to make sense to have a monitor like that.

Honestly I’m hoping Samsung is releasing a 4K OLED 45 inch or 49 inch. That I would pay the price for.

I still don’t see much reason to upgrade my LG CX48. Had a G9 before and there’s a noticeable difference in quality between 4k and 1440p. Ultrawide is a neat experience, but not sure it’s worth the price. I will wait for a true 4k ultrawide.

I use the Gen1 version and it's fkn amazing. This super ultrawide size has been absolutely amazing and almost no issues with games.

It's not true that apart from racing games, it's bad. Almost in any game, it looks noticeably better than 21:9 or 16:9. There are some distortions on the edges of the display due to the field of view (FOV), but in reality, you don't pay attention to that problem because those edges are too far away from the eyes. However, it still provides immersion regardless. Very immersive, next to VR (just after it).

This is such a loaded review hahaha I play plenty of games in 32:9 with no issues and this monitor can split in to two screens to fix that issue for any other game. So many broad assumptions for people when you yourself is the one that has issues.

Just pre-ordered this monitor - hopefully it comes June 26th and blows me away.

Hold on so the only reason is due to game support not to buy? otherwise its a yes?

I just bought this monitor and have been playing satisfactory on it - 32:9 is incredible and the game feels more impressive than I ever knew it could be.

For $850 this thing is an absolute BARGAIN. The high refresh rate, OLED, color accuracy, and integration with Samsung Smart things (if you have other Samsung products like I do) make this thing a MUST HAVE.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but I think you're dead wrong on this thing. Does your opinion change if the price is $850 vs the 2k+ you quoted in here?
