I live in the caribbean where red tailed boas are everywhere so I personally like red tails more but dumeril's are still awesome. Overall great video dude! :-)

I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you on most of this....I currently own 9 Boas, several different species....Dumerils Boas and Common Boas and True Red Tails....I knew before you even started this video you would pick the Dumerils, which is fine cause I love mine also....But Common Boas and Red Tails do not need an enclosure as big as you say, they definitely do not need the height that you suggested and their humidity does not need to be as high as you say....I've never once in 35 years of keeping Boas ever fed mine a pig or a rabbit...yes I know people that have, but it absolutely isn't necessary....That being said I do respect your opinions and am very happy you did a video on the subject....thank you and keep up the so so work...JK

I just like all boas. I love how their face looks. Keep up the good content! Also I like the transition screen into categories. :)

It seems like the relative size of the Dumeril's is what gave it most of it's points. Cool vid, I'm wanting to get a boa soon myself, though I'm leaning towards a BCC because of the beautiful tail.

Really glad you're bringing attention to this underated boa. I discovered them a few years ago and purchased my Feb 2019 at Tinley last Oct. I love him. He's puppy dog tame and tolerates my boys and the neighborhood kids really well! Keep up the great content.

Thanks for doing this video. I own a dumerils boa, but I put in so much research at first to figure what boa I wanted. I'm definitely happy with my Dume

I've had a dumerils boa for about 4.5 years now, and I have personally found keeping the humidity on the higher end (60%) actually works best, especially as they get larger! When kept between 40-50% humidity, my dumerils, even when he was younger, ALWAYS had issues shedding. But when it's 60%, maybe a bit higher (only for a short period, such as with shedding!), my dumerils has perfect, whole sheds. Maybe it varies between individuals, but I wanted to share my experience since I've had mine for so long and they're just recently (in the last year or so) becoming more popular.
This also might be an individual thing, but I've found my dumerils boa to be a very curious creature and he absolutely will utilize any and all space given to him. When he's more active, he tends to climb a lot, so it doesn't hurt to give them climbing space, like a sturdy log. I've seen him use his log for enrichment, basking, you name it.

Like I said, these things may just be individual and I might just have a strange or unique dumerils boa, but my experience has taught me that they will use anything you give them, and higher humidity around 60% or slightly higher, at least during shed times, are best for them. I hope this helps!

Of course you have a video with the exact comparison I needed. I’m at the point where I check your channel before Google when it comes to reptiles. Thanks!!!

Honestly so cool! thank you so much for covering these guys. I have been wondering which boa to get, I was leaning towards Dumerils and now I definitely will get one! Love your videos too!

True Red Tailed Boa is my dream snake. When I first saw them I was in awe of their beauty! When I get my own place and have room to give it a good 12x4 ft enclosure I'll get one :)

Handling Dumeril boas is like handling a giant ball python locked in cruise mode!

Been looking literally EVERYWHERE for a dumerils boa with no luck. I love boas but no space available for an 8 to 12 ft constrictor. That little tail wave was adorable

Dumeril's boas are just awesome creatures. Still getting to an impressive size, but usually with a more mellowed out disposition, and they don't look like a "typical boa." Just great pets.

Considering I don't have the space for anything larger than 6 feet average, would love to see a video comparing a Dumerils vs a Brazilian Rainbow. Beautiful snake btw!

I'm a dumerils nut myself! Love these guys! I would recommend mention that dums seem to be a bit more docile in my opinion. Probably by nature because bc and bi boas are climbers and dums just lay on the ground and wait.

I have a Dumeril's. Had him about 6 years now. Best snake I've ever had. He has a heavy branch set up in his enclosure (he climbs on it too.) Just wanted to let you know that my "ground" boa climbs. I'll send you a picture if you are interested. Great video. All best, George

Was already sold on Dumerils, but this solidified my information more :) One day! No room currently. Maybe Dumerils will eventually develop more variation, though honestly part of why I love them is their default pattern.

Kind of a late comment, but we managed to get some baby Dumerils for $50 (CAD) each just this September! (The person was just wanting them gone as they had no intentions on breeding, just kept a pair together in a large tank. )
I love them so much. Very calm, inquisitive, and personable.
