My grandma used a cotton ball and warm vinegar. Most of the time they went away by that evening or the next day on their own, but if they didn't she would use a needle used for sewing silk and pierce the skin and soak it again with WARM vinegar. She would say NEVER touch the area with your fingers, she would use Q-tips and "roll" them toward the area or use cotton balls at the tips of her fingers and do the same thing

I get them once in a blue moon, but I have always taken them out with a sterilized needle as well, you realize that skin is thick and I just do it until the skin is open right over the milia, it comes out like a little pearl, then I put alcohol on it and it’s healed up within less than a day. Easy peasy! 🌟

Yay! Finally someone to tell me how to properly do what I was going to do either way! Not all of us can afford a dermatologist. Thank you 😊

About 30 years ago, I saw a dermatologist because I had several of these on my face. He used a needle to remove them, and it was very painful. I decided I could do this myself with less pain and for free. I have been doing it ever since with no infection and no scarring.

I actually started seeing my minute sized milia coming out of my skin under my eyes by accident! I had started using African castor oil to clean my skin, because it is supposed to be amazing for your skin, and the very first day I saw one of those tiny white bumps I've had for years poking out of my thin undereye skin! After some research, I learned that African castor oil cleans pores with the ash content and the oil itself sort of softens or "melts" sebum. I use a hot washcloth to steam my skin for a little bit when washing off the oil. I ended up opening up my pores with the steam, and the oil softened milia started coming out on their own! I was so happy to learn this accidently!

I've been using the needle technique and it works wonderfully and easily. Make sure it is super sharp...dip in alcohol first!

I cannot thank you enough for this info. I have had a weird bump on my collarbone for a very long time. It recently has started to bug me, in 5 minutes I was able to use this method and get rid of it. This is freaking amazing. The amount of time and $$ you have saved me by not going to the derm is wonderful. You Sir do damn good work. Thank you.

I use a sterilized needle and it works great. My husband decided to go to the dermatologist, assuming they were better at it. She used a “special” needle, and charged him $225.

I use 26 gauge acupuncture needles to extract these babies. The one's with a circle on the handle end. They work like a charm. They come in packs with 1 or 5 needles and are sterile. Use the pointy end to make the little cut over the milia and place the circle right around the milia and wiggle it around and loosen it up. If it's bigger than the circle on the end of the needle, go for the tweezer method.
And before you do anything wash your hands and wipe them on a paper towel, wipe the area of the milia with alcohol, sterilize the tweezer if you use that, and use a bit of alcohol on the place where the milia came out after you're finished.
Don't set your tweezer or needle down on a dirty sink or counter. It will no longer be sterile, don't hold these items in your mouth. At a minimum after you've washed your hands lay down a clean paper towel to set these items on if need be.
Then have fun! Those buggers can really be stuck!

You’re not in trouble with me, Doll. I extract them. I’m careful and I’ve only had a couple on my eyelids. I have naturally oily skin. Thanks for all you do.

I once removed milium from my eyelid, with a needle. Works fine if you are careful. Just don't try it if you doubt it or don't have steady hands.

Best video I've seen to explain milia, prevent and remove it! And I've watched lots!

I got them in my teens and 20s, and used the needle to open up the top skin enough to get them out. Worked perfectly! Thanks for the reassurance and information on what they are, how to get rid of them slowly, and how to prevent them.

I used a bit of Orajel and the tip of a scalpel to remove a milia that had been under my eye for years. Worked well.

I have had one on the side of my face for over a year. My Dr is referring me to a dermatologist, but now I am going to work on it for myself. I am glad to know what it is. Thank you.

I get them....I just stick a pin in one sideways then pull up to break the skin and it pops right out. Doesn't hurt a bit.

If it's in a hard to grip area you can use those syringes that don't have needles mainly for measuring and applying liquids. Put it over the millia after scoring the skin (I use an exacto blade) place it over with plunger down, then lightly pull the plunger until you feel it sucking.
