Secret Service agents on leave over assassination attempt on Donald Trump

Multiple Secret Service officials have been put on leave as a result of the ongoing investigation into the service's preparation for the Trump rally on 13 July.

The former president escaped with a bullet wound to his ear in the attack as he was giving a speech to supporters in Butler, Pennsylvania.

I wish when regular people catastrophically failed in a job, they were put on paid leave, as opposed to being sacked. I doubt these agents put on leave include the chubby lady struggling to holster her weapon while her colleague was fumbling to put her sunglasses on. It will hopefully be the people who put them in such a position which almost backfired in a loss of life.

Even just focusing on the agents on the stage, those agents need to be removed from his detail. It was obvious that they failed in multiple ways after the shooting. Compared to past shootings, these agents failed miserably - they have grown too close to the subject.
