Had the chance to fly both, the new A350 XWB and the new B789 within a day and I must say that the AB is far superior over the B. It’s much quieter, has less dry air and has a much better overall feel...looking forward flying the XWB again next week...

I like this narrator. He's got a heavy accent but he speaks clear and concise. More understandable than some native English speakers I know xD

The sleekest, most beautiful aircraft flying the skies today, nothing compares

Thank you for this review! I was seriously debating whether to get an A350 or a 787 for my trips to school. You've cleared my mind. I think I'll get the A350

I used to work at Rolls Royce who build the trent xwb 84k and 97k engines for this plane. The 97k engine in particular is very advanced with a two stage shroudless hp turbine.

"The name XWB would suit a phone adapter, not an aeroplane." Fantastic!!

Yeah, the name could be better, but this is a fantastic aircraft. I've flown on the A350 and the Dreamliner, and the A350 is notably more comfortable. They are both configured 3-3-3 usually, so the A350 is wider and more spacious, plus quieter. Ace machine!

Should have mentioned the Airbus variable camber system the plane uses in the “new technologies” part. Absolutely incredible what the computers can do. Up to 4 degrees of flap deflection (can be asymmetrical also!) inboard or outboard, are used during flight to optimize trim and drag automatically depending on the detected center of gravity. Can also be used to move the wings loading inboard or outboard - this allows them to be able to build the plane even lighter and optimize lift occasionally for very heavy takeoffs or in hot/high regions.
The redundancy is also truly spectacular, even compared to the 787. It has 8 pitot static sensor ports with an additional standby tube, four AoA sensors (3 also do other stuff) - hell it even has 3 side slip sensors.

You can lose 100% of your hydraulic systems on an A350 and not only will it still fly well, but you’ll even keep autopilot. 😦

Now it all makes sense on why they stopped the a380 program
This is a fantastic plane

I have travelled on one recently. The plane is a joy to fly. It is better than travelling on an A330.

The private/corporate version is insane. 20, 000km of range puts no destination out of range. Flying direct to any place on the world and be there within 20hours, insane how connected the world today is.

Interesting tidbit: when Airbus originally proposed the "A350" it was essentially a highly modified A330 model. It was only in consultation with several airlines that Airbus decided to develop an all-new plane, the A350XWB, which was designed to better compete against the Boeing 777. Even more interesting, when Airbus started the A330neo project, it had many of the aspects of the original A350 proposal.

Airbus is currently seriously looking at making a higher mean takeoff weight (MTOW) version of the A350XWB-1000. This will allow the A350XWB-1000 to fly as far as 9, 000 nautical miles.

Flew on 3 Cathay Pacific examples in 2018. Terrific aircraft. On Hong Kong - Auckland leg, we flew higher & faster than ever before. Lots of turbulence and the planes handled amazingly

"XWB, Come on guys, a name for a phone adaptor, maybe, but not your new beautiful plane."
I just subscribed.
