I'm back!!! After spilling tea on my early 2015 Macbook Pro (RIP), I was forced to get a brand new Macbook. Lucky for me, the new Macbook Air with M2 Chip was coming out, so I just had to jump on. This time I will be spilling all the tea on the new Macbook Air 2022 (figuratively speaking of course)! I am so excited to be unboxing the new M2 Macbook Air in Starlight (how gorgeous is this new Macbook colour?!) I hope you enjoy my unboxing, first impressions & quick setup of my new Apple Macbook.

I think starlight looks much neater than the midnight blue which is a finger print magnet. Thanks for doing the unboxing in natural light so we could see how it actually looked.Neatly done unboxing.

I recently got to see the MacBook Air M2 starlight live in a store, and that changed my opinion on the colors. Starlight is nothing like the light gold color from pictures, reviews and so on, but instead it’s more of a very clear champagne tone. I don’t know if that was because of the store’s lighting, but still the impression I had there was pretty disappointing…so I now prefer the color midnight.

Good job. I went from a 15" mid 2015 MBP to a 16" M1-PRO MBP with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. The jump in performance was so huge any nits about speed were moot. I have used an M1 MacBook Air and it too was a huge jump in performance. I predict you'll really enjoy the new machine. 

If you make use of iCloud, DropBox and an external SSD, you will be able to live with the 256GB SSD. I struggled with it for 4 years before installing a 1TB SSD in my 2015. That hasn't been possible on any MBP since the mid 2015. Not going to at least 512 may be the one thing you may regret.  

You can use an external SSD to make TimeLine backups. Once it's set up, just plug it in at night. It will automatically back everything up while  you sleep. Eject the SSD the next morning. Repeat. It works a treat. After sending my 2021 M1-PRO to Apple, they wiped it as part of their (failed) troubleshooting and sent it back. Using my TimeLIne backup it was back ready to go in 45 minutes.

Seems like Apple really killed it with the M2 air! The starlight looks really nice when compared to your 2015 (RIP). I really like midnight and space grey myself.

I bought a midnight and having a hard time keeping it clean. I would suggest people to avoid it although it looks attractive

I JUST upgraded from my 2013 MacBook Air today. I was set on getting the midnight color until I saw how much of a finger print magnet it was. I'm super excited to set up my new MacBook Air!

I ordered the starlight with the basic package however after seeing how slow the 256Gb goes I cancelled and got the 500gb model with 10 core Gpu got 35w duel charger chucked in free can’t wait

Thanks for the review! You did so great! Keep up the good work! Personally, I prefer the space grey M2 Air over the other colors. Midnight is a runner up, but for me, it is a little too dark.

I just got the same one and the notch was bothering me until i saw that most of the times it alines into a black straight line just like the m1 one so it's not bothering me anymore. I love it
