As a professional software developer, this monitor is perfect, lots of space for my IDE, browser and chrome debugger.

I can attest, this monitor is amazing and well worth the price. As a graphic designer, I’ve always trusted LG displays. 21:9 is also the absolute best aspect ratio for creative workflows - great for timelines!

Well shot video and great info on the business expenses as well!

I am very pleased to see I’m not the only one who uses bookshelf speakers on the desk

I believe the tax advice at 2:02 is really wrong. The $1000 you save is not saved from taxes, it only gets deducted from the income which you pay taxes on. You're likely only saving $200-500 as opposed to not writing it off.

The local Best Buy has one and it's on fire sale at $1580 Canadian Dollars. I am tempted but 40" is way too big for my desk.

is not the operating system interface too tiny at native resolution? Does it get any fuzzier when you apply scaling?
And which scaling if any do you find more convenient?

10k in owed taxes? The monitor will not drop it 1k. You need to deduct from your taxable income, and that makes the difference. So, say you are taxed at 20%. The 10k of owed taxes means you earned 50k. You need to subtract the 1k from 50k, which is 49k. 20% of 49k is 9.8k, so deducting the monitor saved you $200 in taxes.

Nice budgeting! 😁 If it's not OLED do you see any image distortion when looking towards the edges of the monitor? I know OLED eliminates this problem on most uncurved ultra-wides but if the curve does just as well it'd be nice not to spend the extra mula on the paneling

What do you think of the New Apple VR for an editing monitor? Compared to Table Monitor?

I work from home as a developer. I love this monitor for it's amazing picture quality, slight curvature, ports: I have my 14" M2 MBP on TB4, two work laptops on HDMI each, plus my very powerful Windows 11 gaming PC on DP. I happen to be happy with it's 72hz and 5ms performance for the games that I do play. I use VR for flight sims anyhow. I used to own the 34" LG version of this monitor which I was able to sell for a great price after I bought this one. You are absolutely correct though, once you go ultra-wide on these monitors you just never go back ever again. Also, once you experience 5120x2160, you also never go back to anything less.

I'm having an issue with this monitor. When I mouse click on something it will immediately close again. Sometimes I have to click it multiple times to for the window to stay open. That's just one of the erratic things I'm experiencing with this display. Even trying to highlight text is a struggle. My GPU is a MSI Mech Radeon RX 6600. I can't imagine that being the issue. I might just sell it and go back to a dual monitor set up if I can't get this resolved. It's a shame. Such a nice display.

Yup... spending more vs e.g. Odyssey g8 oled and you get:
- worse contrast
- worse brightness
- worse hdr
- worse viewing angles
- worse uniformity
- worse hdr color gamut
- worse reflections
- worse response times

but let's be fair, it _is_ bigger, and has better color accuracy (which I suppose is a fair point, still 8-1 tho) and text readability...

Dude! The keyboard/mouse latch under your desk, did you get it seperately from the deks? I have a sit/stand desk myself, but man that thing would be great I think!

I just found one open box for $840 and think I may jump on it thanks to this video! Cheers. I'm rocking a 14" m1 macbook pro and it's where I do my video editing work. Hopefully I can put a nice warranty on it just in case.

Such a shame that my 500$ PS5 does not support wide gaming, but editing videos/short films on something like this will be nuts

What about color grading? How accurate are the colors on the screen compared to what people might see on their phones or laptops?

Hey my man, awesome video! You're making me want to pull the trigger on this haha. Quick question, how is colour accuracy out of the box? Was there any need for external calibration? Keep up the great work dude
