the plat one makes sense actually, there are plenty of diamond and even champs in plat 1v1. if i had to guess, they were probably somewhere around c2 or 3 in 2v2 but don't play enough 1v1 to get their rank up

plat is the most diverse rank in terms of skill. low plats are 75% of the time worse then gold 3s but plat 3s are diamond 2-3 or even champ 1 level. i was playing with a random at plat 3 yesterday, and it turns out he was a smurf and his real rank was actually champ (he showed me his account). i didnt even notice it by his gameplay, and when i added him and we played like 3-4 games we lost 2/4 games despite him being champ 1. and his score was only the highest in 1/4 games

Only 75% of plats actually deserve to be in that rank. Matchmaking is engagement based imo. They havent fixed it and dont plan to.
