Vinh, how do you combat the opposite, thinking everybody's better than you? I've come to realize that I house this belief subconsciously at work, thinking that all of my coworkers are better than me, that they know more and are better performers.

I understand why you say arrogant people tend to not succeed, but closing off your heart is sometimes the only way to move forward. Closing off your heart means you never have to feel that pain again, and no one can hurt you anymore.

Arrogant people do succeed, but it's never long lasting cause if you don't learn, don't adapt you become stagnant & obsolete in a while.
Also, sometimes confident people end up becoming arrogant after finding success, it's not always black & white, so they can be confident in some cases & simply arrogant in some other.

People should hold themselves to a higher standard compared to the people around them. This builds a more confident and self-sufficient person.
