Doug Seegers is a homeless street musician born in New York who lives in Nashville.
The two musicians Jill Jonson and Magnus Carlson from Sweden met him on the street after a tip from a hot dog salesman. They were very taken by his lyrics and flair for singing.

How many times have we heard musicians that never made that "successful" leap to stardom for many reasons that played better than many who did. This person is a tribute to all those that never made the train.

There are several versions of this song. Many modernized with violin and electric guitars that sound wonderful. However, it is this original taping that seems to catch the AM radio sound which makes his music so soul catching. There is a lot to be said for the unvarnished raw sounds of old school music. Go Doug Seegers!
