Crazy that UploadVR didn't get a real demo of Orion. C'mon now Meta.

Near-term, I'm most excited for Meta's Hyperscapes. Truly the most game changing and useful in both Real-estate, and actually visiting public spaces like museums and exhibits without leaving your current space. Truly what people have been imagining available for virtual tours, and field trips for students. Add in co-location and you can use a basketball court to recreate full walkable exhibits

Concerning Hyperscape: I downloaded the App in Germany with a VPN the same way it used to work for Horizon Worlds. I didn't notice any Cloud Streaming latency and it looked much better and smoother than what I saw in Gracia.

A couple of pretty rude comments there about the Visor, implying that they knowingly invited people to see a "broken, bulky device". The intent was clearly to show working devices, and they were broken by a firmware flash just before the event. Murphy's law. Bulky? Put an AVP beside it :) But I'll give you that the marketing showed even slimmer designs. Also, you don't need to pay by subscription if you don't want to. Otherwise a fair commentary. What I can tell you is that if the thing works it'll completely change how I work with computers at home and on the road. I am happy to gamble on that.

I don't know who the guy on the left is, but complaining about them showing meta connect on the Visor clip as a "competitor" is a bit misinformed. They are a partner and have had their software in the meta store for years allowing people with meta headsets to utilize the Immersed software. They also support AVP and others with their software.

The glasses stem bait from Immersed is similar to the Vive XR elite. Both glasses modes did not work, too much front weight.

Putting aside all the other craziness, one correction on the Visor: It wasn't clear from the keynote, but you don't need the subscription for it. You can pay $1050 or $1350 (for FE) upfront and then not need the subscription. It's another thing they should be clearer on instead of using the lingo of "subscription" and "prepay", but really it is optional financing and if you don't finance, you get a year free of the subscription (which has special environments, AI, etc) which isn't necessary to use the headset. My guess is they're really emphasizing the subscription, since it is a way to get additional recurring income, but it also backfires in things like this video since a lot of people don't want a subscription and assume it is needed from the way it is presented.

Literally nobody more surprised or unprepared for Orion announcement than David Heaney. I told you AR would be ready by 2025/2026 and it you said the tech was 10+ yrs away and impossible in the near term. Not sure why you cover technology with such a linear view of technological advancement. Always cut your expectations in half.

Thanks for your vids. I've preordered the Vive Focus Vision headset. While I'm not happy that it still uses Focus 3/VP2 2448x2448 lcd displays and fresnel lens, I really like the DisplayPort option. It will be interesting to see how this compares with my current favorite msfs2020 flight sim headset = Quest Pro/i913900k/rtx4090 with official link cable connected to my z790mb usb3.2 gen2 type-c port. BTW, I currently use a Q3, QPro, and Vive Pro1 (1600x1400 amoled screens, Etsy gearVR lens mod, 2x2.0 base stations, and Index controllers). Thanks again mates and best cheers from Australia!

38:59 is wrong: *you don't have to pay a subscription*. The headset costs around $1050 (probably a bit more by the time it ships). And then there is an optional extra set of software features, AI-related, called Visor Plus. By buying one, you get one year of it for free, and wanting to use these optional extra software features beyond that, yes, requires a subscription. But Visor and Immersed don't.
It just so happens that they're offering a payment plan, insofar you can spend 500$ now, in exchange of what you lose the gratuity of the first year of Visor Plus, you have to "pay the rest of the headset" with a 1 or 2 year subscription.
It's exactly the same model as Quest 3's "play now, pay later".

It’s obvious. Let ppl Orion that don’t know about this stuff. Can you imagine if someone who knows about about AR /VR tries it and can pick it apart. They let normal ppl who don’t no anything try it

S for Sensible, as in the people who wouldn’t spend $500 on a VR toy would think it would be a sensible alternative to that PlayStation Pro

19:00 - the PlayStation 2 had an official Linux release for it that came packaged with a VGA adapter, keyboard and everything. I’ve only ever heard of it being used in forums and stuff, but this feels like that. Like, in theory someone could definitely use the Q3/s as a laptop replacement with a few sideloaded apps at this point. Super excited to see how this develops.

The quest 3s, the name is misleading. It should be called the quest 2s.

Visor developers are scamers in the way they have presented this the past year or so

Re: Immersed Visor. From @DiscoVR ‘s experience, she noted that none of the “demo” units had their tethered battery/Wi-Fi puck on the tables. If Immersed was planning on offering demos to 20+ people, and I’m assuming they decorated the room in advance… then… why weren’t the pucks on the tables?! It implies that they weren’t actually going to run the demos, they realized it too late, didn’t want to lose face by cancelling the entire event, so they just rolled with it.

orion is what I thought Apple vp was going to be but with the iPhone as the puck .
