Su27 at 50% hardbass kills you before you even get into the cockpit on the ground.

This is one of the most important reasons why America gives more importance to BVRAAM capability for long range AAMs and off-boresight capability for their sidewinders as in the AIM-9X, all in a bid to try to even the odds stacked up against planes like the F-15 and F-16 both of which are designs from the 70's despite their proven track record in wars. They know that aircraft like the Su-27 and Su-35 are more manoeuverable only matched by the F-22 in the USAF's inventory which are not too numerous, as F-15s and F-16s are their mainstay and form the backbone of the USAF.

Well, in that scenario we likely have NATO vs Russia and losing an F-15 is the least of our worries. I would suggest that the 'nuclear deterrent' isn't the only reason Russia wouldn't engage directly with the US. They are also, significantly less militarily and economically capable and have very few allies.
